SDS Lumber Company Log Purchases

The log supply for SDS' manufacturing facilities comes from numerous sources. One third of our raw material comes from company lands, the 70,000 acres located in Oregon and Washington, all within a 35- mile radius of our mill. And the other two thirds comes from various private landowners.

SDS Lumber Company seeks standing timber, timberland and logs for manufacturing into lumber and plywood. If you have timber, logs, or timberland for sale, please give us a call at 509-493-2155.

SDS' model of sustainable yield forestry allows trees to grow longer and to a fuller maturity with the objective of growing high quality logs ideal for selling and manufacturing into high quality forest products. Larger logs are either sold or manufactured into plywood, while the remaining, smaller logs provide the raw material for our lumber mill. The SDS stud mill was strategically designed to use smaller logs. Most of our log supply is grown in this area east of the Cascades, where logs grow slower, producing higher quality wood and an abundance of smaller logs. SDS offers a range of log-related services including rafting and towing logs on the Columbia River.
